Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party president, has accused BJP of rigging elections just a day before the votes are going to be counted for bypolls in the Assembly constituencies. He further said that he will share evidence of the rigging soon.
Yadav spoke at a press conference about the rigging of the election, stating that the ruling party ensured that some voters did not come. Therefore, it was not a direct involvement with the election results themselves. He also supposedly has videos of the police playing a role in this at booths. He clarified that he could not tell the final results, but he was sure that BJP performed fraudulent elections.
I can tell that the BJP has done dhandhli (rigging), dhokha (fraud) and whatever it could by (misusing) the administration. Akhilesh Yadav
Akhilesh said that he will share the video evidence only after the results came out.
Yadav attacks BJP for demonetisation decisions
Following that, he also spoke up about the failures of demonetisation. The demonetisation apparently shows that the most affected population was that which never made any black money. Furthermore, instead of black money owners being caught, they managed to escape safely.
Moreover, Yadav claims that RBI statistics show that the old currency amount reached them. ‘The result is that the Indian economy is not on the level it should have been, and instead it is going down,’ he said. Additionally, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that scrapping the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes helped BJP win the 2017 UP Vidhan Sabha elections. Yadav furthers this jab annually by celebrating the birthday of Khazanchi Nath, a child delivered on a bank premise because his mother was still in a bank queue after the 2016 demonetisation.
Apart from that, the SP President also said that BJP’s decision left the country in disappointment and distrust.
