The case of a 16-year-old dead girl in North Bengal took another turn as the suspected teen in the case was found dead. Earlier, the girl’s rape and murder had led to clashes between locals and the police. Later, police claimed that the postmortem operation showed no signs of sexual or physical assault. Apparently, the girl died by ingesting poison.

Dead body of teen close to girl’s location

Police took out a dead body of the teen from the pond close to where the family found the girl’s body. The pond was not so far from the area where the police found the body of the girl. After investigation, the mother of the boy clarified that the girl and boy belong to the same class and passed the same board examination recently.

The mother of the boy is blaming the family of the girl for his death. On the other hand, the girl’s father accused the boy for the rape and murder. However, the boy’s mother denies any relationship between both of them.

Involvement of party leaders

After sensing the tension in the situation, the leaders of TMC visited the village. The ministers Gautam Deb, Gholam Rabbani, and Rajya Sabha MP Mausam Noor met the family members and sympathised with them. They also spoke about the assurance of justice.

Meanwhile, the BJP leaders are extremely concerned about the justice of the girl. They stated that they don’t know the youth whose body is found in the pond, but want justice for the girl and punishment to the culprit.

The BJP leaders also went to the Islampur hospital where the postmortem of the girl’s body was taking place. They wanted to escort the body of the girl as his uncle was a member of BJP, but the police refused.
