A 26-year-old Indian nurse was stabbed several times and bashed by a vehicle. It lead to her death. According to the police, this is more of a domestic argument. The incident occurred in Florida and was covered by the Sun Sentinel.
The victim was Merin Joy and she was from Kerala. This incident took place while she was leaving the Broward Health Coral Springs Hospital on Tuesday. It was her workplace. As she was leaving, a man stabbed her. According to the police, he stabbed the nurse several times. Then, a vehicle crashed into her. In the meantime, the suspect fled away Soon after, she was quickly taken to the nearest trauma hospital in Pompano Beach and here is died shortly.
“We are heartbroken over the loss of Merin. She was part of our family, and there are no words to describe our emotions. We offer our most sincere condolences to her family,” said Jared Smith, the CEO of Broward Health Coral Springs.
Witnesses help find the culprit who stabbed nurse several times
The witnesses described the car of the suspect. Following that, the and then Police found him as Philip Mathew, 34, from, Michigan. Police reported that the suspect owned a self-made knife. Afterwards, they sent him to the hospital.
Mathew is facing first-degree murder. Moreover, the Coral Springs Police reported that they immediately didn’t know that victim and culprit were couples. Later, the police realized that it was a domestic violence case.
Some of Joy’s friends said that the late night shift on Monday was supposed to be her last day at the hospital. She was shifting to Tampa to escape her relationship.
