The body of Naya Rivera, Glee actress, was found in Lake Piru after a five-day search. She went missing at the lake last Wednesday. The officials of Ventura County Sheriff confirmed her identity on Monday.
Naya Rivera, with her four-year old son, went missing after renting a boat. But when the officials reached the lake, they only found her son sleeping on the boat.
Later, when officers interviewed the son, he informed the police that he and his mother went swimming. After he climbed onto the boat, he saw his mother ‘disappear under the water’.
Officials found the kid wearing a life-saving jacket and also found one more adult life-saving jacket on the boat. They are unsure about why Rivera did not wear one.
Over the weekend, the Ventura County Sheriff’s department went on a huge search with his rescue team in and around the lake for Rivera. The department also called for special dive in teams. They kept the search going with the help of helicopters, ATV vehicles, boats and ground units.
The officials could not find any suspect and could not find any evidence of foul play or suicide. They sent her body for autopsy.
Rivera played the role of Santana Lopez , a high-school cheerleader in “Glee”. During her early career she did small roles in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Family Matters,” “Bay Watch,” “Even Stevens” and “Smart Guy,” among others.
After Glee, she got a memorable role in the third season of Lifetime’s “Devious Maids.” She also wrote a historical account named, “Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up.”
In 2018, she got the role of Collette Jones on You Tube Red series, “Step Up: High Water”. She was supposed to continue the same role when the series move to the Stars in the year 2020.
