Police booked a father for marrying his 13-year-old daughter to a 30-year-old man, who along with three others allegedly raped the minor. The incident occurred in Ludhiana, Punjab.

The 13-year-old lives with her father. He allegedly married her off to a 30-year-old man on July 12 this year. However, the mother lives separately and works as a domestic helper at another place. Hence, she did not come to know of the marriage until Tuesday, September 15. In fact, she only came to know because she met her daughter.

Husband, kin raped minor everyday, says mother in FIR

Her daughter then told her that her husband raped her everyday, along with his brother and two relatives. Following that, the mother filed an FIR against the father as well as the husband and the other rapists. Along with them, nine others are also on the FIR for their involvement in the marriage.

Daba Police registered a case against them under section 9 and 10 of the Child Marriage (Prohibition) Act and section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. Presently, they arrested the girl’s father but the groom and his family are on the run. Meanwhile, they have placed the girl and her mother under custody and are conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused.
