Police arrested a man for stalking and molesting his sister, and then beating her and their mother when she raised an alarm. The incident happened in the late night of December 16 in Maharashtra.

Verbally abusive since September, say parents

The man is 25 years old, unemployed and studied till the seventh grade. As of late, he often took drugs and alcohol, and fought with his family. In September this year, he began verbally abusing his 33-year-old sister. Though married, she lives with her parents, away from her husband. The family also reached out to the police earlier when the man tried to touch her inappropriately. However, they had not filed a case.

On the intermediate night between December 16 and 17, the man entered the house. He then molested his sister while she was sleeping. When she raised an alarm, her mother came to help. However, the man began beating his sister and their mother with a wooden plank in the house.

Following that, the family reported him to the Pimpri-Chinchwad police at the Bhosari police station. ACP Gajana Bansode confirmed the details as well, and is investigating the case. They filed the case under Sections 354(d) (stalking), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), and 504 (insult with an intention of provoking a breach of peace) of the IPC.
