Assam floods are affecting many lives. As per the official bulletin, 28 out of 33 district are in state of devastation. Over 40 lakh lives are in misery.

Recently, 5 more people died due to the floods. One person each died in Dhubri, Darrang, Bongaigaon, Goalpar and Kamrup, State Disaster Management Authority reported.

Lots of people lost their lives in flood and landslides. The death toll of the state reached 102. Out of the 102, 76 people died due to flood whereas 26 lost their lives due to landslide.

As of now, the Brahmaputra river is flowing over the danger mark in the Dhubri and Goalpara cities, at Nimatighat in Jorhat and at Tezpur in Sonitpur districts.

The damage is very serious in the cities. The roads, embankments, bridges and infrastructure are severe in course of damage. Also, Kaziranga National Park and Rajiv Gandhi Orang National Park were also awash.

Dalai Lama writes to CM about Assam floods

Recently, Dalai Lama wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, expressing his concern. Also, he stated that he was making a donating from the Dalai Lama Trust so as to help with rescuing and helping the affected people in Assam.
