People threw stones and waved black flags as Dilip Ghosh, BJP President in West Bengal, arrived in Jaigaon to attend some party events. The stones caused some damage to his vehicle.
Ghosh claims that the TMC (Trinamool Congress) and their allies are trying to target them. Furthermore, he said that the way the public raged against him was a sign of law and order decreasing in West Bengal. Activists of the GJM (Gorkha Janmukti Morcha), now TMC allies, also chanted slogans, demanding that Ghosh leave.
Cops made both protesters and BJP supporters leave in order to have complete control.
Meanwhile, Sourav Chakraborty, the TMC chief in the district, said that the party was not involved in the incident at all. He further claimed that it was the BJP President Ghosh himself trying to create issues.
