The internet went abuzz after the news of the cartoon network’s merger with warner bros. Went viral. While it was only a merger, a chunk of people on the Internet thought it was the end of the channel; hence, tributes started pouring in.
However, the studio has now responded to all the speculations with a cheeky tweet. The official Twitter profile of the channel shared a tweet on October 15, Y’all we’re not dead, we’re just turning 30. To our fans: We’re not going anywhere. We have been and will always be your home for beloved, innovative cartoons,” the tweet stated.
The studio took another jibe at the rumours, and wrote, “When the internet says you’re dead, but you’re sitting here like..”
In just one day, the tweet has crossed over 277k likes and over 31k retweets.
As soon as the studio cleared the air, netizens expressed their sigh of relief and reminisced about their favourite cartoons. A person wrote- “I think because the main Cartoon Network studios is being merged into WB animation. The actual channel isn’t going anywhere”
Another wrote, “Can y’all plz keep the old shows the kids gotta experience classic Cartoon Network for a lot of times”
