Climate change is the most important world problem and India is dedicated to fight it, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav mentioned on Monday.

Speaking on the launch of Climate Action and Finance Mobilisation Dialogue (CAFMD) below India-US Climate Clean Energy Agenda 2030, Yadav mentioned India is proactively working in direction of tackling local weather change and decreasing carbon emissions.

John F Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for the launch.

Mr Yadav mentioned the partnership between India and the US will assist strengthen local weather motion.

“Climate Action and Finance Mobilisation Dialogue of the Agenda 2030 Partnership launched today will provide both countries an opportunity to renew collaborations on climate change while addressing the financing aspects,” Mr Yadav mentioned.

The minister mentioned India is already a horny vacation spot for world clear power investments.

“I hope this dialogue will work to mobilise and deliver climate finance primarily as grants and concessional finance, as envisaged under the Paris Agreement to strengthen climate action.

“I imagine this Dialogue is not going to solely strengthen India-US bilateral cooperation on local weather and atmosphere however will even assist to reveal how the world can align swift local weather motion with inclusive and resilient financial growth, making an allowance for nationwide circumstances and sustainable growth priorities,” he said.

Calling for urgent action to address climate change, Mr Kerry said action needs to be taken now to avoid more catastrophic consequences.

“Floods, forest fires, file ranges of rainfall are taking place in all places and to maintain 1.5 diploma warming restrict in attain, and keep away from extra catastrophic penalties, we should act now,” he stressed.

Mr Kerry also said that it was a good time to invest in energy transition.

The India-US Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership was launched at the Leaders’ Summit on Climate in April 2021 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden.
